We are like Golden Buddha

Once there was a statue of Buddha, made of mud, in Thailand. It was to be transferred to a newer location to make way for a highway. As the crane was lifting it, it started to crack and it started raining. They had to put it back for that day. The head monk covered it so that it shouldn’t get wet. At night, he came back to look if it was getting wet. He saw a shining yellow light which shined more brightly under the torch light he had. He brought a chisel. When he broke the top mud, he found that the statue was made of gold and was later covered with mud. Actually when the Thai’s were invaded and the invaders were looting everything, in fear that they might lose the statue, they covered it with mud to protect it from being looted. All were killed in the looting frenzy and the secret of the golden Buddha was buried for long time till the monk found it.

Why did I tell this story???

We all are like that golden Buddha. We have covered our real selves under a social mask to protect ourselves from the world we fear, as the monks feared about the Buddha. We are like treasures. We just ignore the fact. We now need to shed our mask to benefit the human race by the treasure that we all have. We all have it in us but we don’t want to shed the mud as we feel safe from the world under this mask.

Even if we don’t like something, we pretend to like it as we fear that others might feel bad, but that is not our true self.
It doesn’t mean that we should do everything what we like, even if it is bad. In last articles I explained that as we are all are one, there can be nothing good or bad. All are good and we should love them as ourselves.
And there is nothing to dislike if you have shed hatred.

Living in ignorance is like running away from truth.

The time has come.

Shed the mask.

Its time for mental resurrection.

Is death to be feared?

Once somebody told Alexander that there is a waterfall, which has water of immortality. Alexander sent his army to search for it. After years of searching the army found the waterfall in a cave. Alexander told his army to stand guard around the cave so that no one other than him can go in. When Alexander went in and was about to drink the water, he heard a voice that said, "Please drink the water only after listening to me."

He looked around and saw that it was a pigeon speaking. Seeing a talking pigeon stunned him. The pigeon told him that he drank the water of the waterfall millions of years back. He said that he was very happy at that time. The pigeon did everything he ever wanted to. When he has done all, he found newer things and even did many things which pigeons can't even imagine doing, as he was immortal. He soon got exhausted.

He understood everything he possibly could, but finally became exhausted and wanted to die. He tried everything from drowning to burning but he couldn't die, as he was immortal.

He said that at this moment he was very sad & couldn't enjoy anything, as he knows that he'll never die.

Alexander threw away the water & ran towards the opening of the cave, never  to return. He even got the waterfall buried so that no one should suffer.

Moral:
We all say that life is sacred. All love life.Everyone says that once we die, we'll go to heaven, but no one wants to die.
The fear of death drives us daily. Have you ever thought that why humans want their own children?? It may not be the most important reason, but one is certainly the fear of death. Every human being knows from the core of his heart that he'll die one day. And the constant urge of immortality leaves him with no other alternative but to live his name through his children.
There is nothing to fear from death. It is because of death that we enjoy everything we do. Death relieves suffering.

Death is also as sacred and important as life and it is immortality that is more fearful than death.
